On July 16,, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson issued this statement reaffirming Michigan's safe and secure election process following the presidential address.

As League of Women Voters’ members our mission is to “Empower Voters” and “Defend Democracy.” A cornerstone of our democracy is the guarantee of free, fair, accessible, and accurate elections. This takes commitment from dedicated community members willing to serve as election workers.

As the recent LWVMI newsletter, League Links, stated, “League members are especially well suited for this role. Our commitment to civic engagement, voter participation, and nonpartisanship makes us valuable contributors at the polls and early voting sites.”

There are many ways to have your voice heard by elected officials and policy makers. Both the League of Women Voters United States and the League of Women Voters of Michigan study current issues and encourage advocacy through Action Alerts.
